This post main purpose is to guide and to help anyone interested on buying the Tasmanian Tiger RFID Blocker Purse.
I´m writing this publication to guide and show what you are going to buy, so you can make the best decision.
After more than 2 years using it, in this publication we will not only analyze deeply the Tasmanian Tiger RFID blocker Purse, but we will also see what this technology is about and why we must take into account this technology to avoid data and info. theft.
WHAT IS RFID TECHNOLOGY?
Using Wikipedia’s definition of RFID [SOURCE]:
“RFID or radio frequency identification (Radio Frequency Identification) is a remote data storage and retrieval system that uses devices called RFID tags, cards or transponders. The fundamental purpose of RFID technology is to transmit the identity of an object (similar to a unique serial number) using radio waves. RFID technologies are grouped within the so-called Auto ID (automatic identification, or automatic identification). RFID tags (RFID tags in English) are small devices, similar to a sticker, that can be attached or incorporated to a product, an animal or a person. They contain antennas to allow them to receive and respond to requests by radio frequency from an RFID transmitter-receiver. Passive tags do not need internal power supply, while active tags do.1 One of the advantages of using radio frequency (instead of infrared, for example) is that no direct vision is required between emitter and receiver. “
Therefore, we deduce that an RFID BLOCKER is the one “thing” that intrudes between one of these “stickers” and a reader, for preventing them from reading our cards without us giving it conscious access.
Its design evokes the military. for the colours and its morphology. It has quite a few pockets (We recommend viewing the video review to get a better idea of their arrangement). In this regard, the plastic flap that allows you to teach identification cards in a quite comfortable and fast way to use, which also has a “suction cup” effect when you use 2 cards.
It also has 2 bill compartments, , 5 ID´s main compartments/cards and another 2 additional generic compartments.
It also has a purse that, personally, it hasnt convinced me, as we will speak about in PRO´S&CONS section.
AVAILABLE COLORS AND CAMO PATTERNS
This purse is available in the following colours:
- Olive green
The Tasmanian Tiger card with RFID blocker (and I imagine same happens with the normal one that does not bring it) is built in a strong way, with good quality materials, well-made and well-finished seams.
In this regard we have to remember that CORDURA ends up expanding slightly with use, so at first we will notice that the cards are quite well retained (and even getting to take them out the first few times), this will disappear with use and time but without being completely loose. They will just go in and out easier.
🧪 STANDARDIZED TESTS FOR MATERIAL ANALYSIS
In MilitariaGeneral we want to offer quality reviews based on evidence.
Therefore, we carry out certain tests to be able to objectively analyze the quality of the material to be analyzed. For more information about these tests, visit the section 🧪 STANDARDIZED TESTS FOR MATERIAL ANALYSIS to obtain more information about how we do that and what criteria and premises we rely on.
Tests will be uploaded soon.
✅PROS & CONS❌
Clicking in “+” you can get more details.
HARDLY DURABLE WALLET/PURSE
After a little more than 2 years of using it daily, I have to admit that it is an extremely resistant and durable wallet.
I have given it quite a bit, it has been rubbing continuously, I have been mistreating the zipper for these two years and even removing and inserting keys and other metallic elements that would have torn or marked the fabric of many other wallets.
And yet, it does not present a simple unstitching or any relevant loose hair. Because yes, it does have the odd hair down, but both by size and quantity is not much less relevant to mention. It is 99% the same as how it came the first day.
GOOD COMPARTMENTS AMOUNT
Although there are only 5 compartments in the card holder, it has many ones more distributed, which are quite useful (except for the purse)
LA SOLAPA PLÁSTICA ES UNA AUTÉNTICA MARAVILLA
The plastic flap that it brings to carry identification cards or cards is AWESOME.
The plastic with which it is made has a suction cup effect with the cards inside, so it is practically impossible for them to move from there even shaking the wallet.
As it can be displayed, it is ideal to be able to carry a card or identification card and be able to show it without having to take it out.
One of the things that I like the most about well-designed materials is how they take advantage of all their opportunities. And this is precisely what happens with the design of the Tasmanian Tiger wallet, ABSOLUTELY ALL THE SPACE IS TAKEN IN AN ADVANTAGE.
FEW COMPARTMENTS FOR CARDS / CARDS
Although it is true that we can store more in different compartments of the same, this wallet only has space for 5 wallets / cards in its main compartment.
UNRELIABLE PURSE´S CLOSURE
The only real imperfection that I see on this wallet is the purse´s velcro closure.
The velcro that it brings falls is short, so when you carry enough coins they can fall off if you are not careful enough.
I have been experiencing this problem and I have to say that it happens mostly with 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20 euro cent coins due to their size.
In any case, this can be corrected by sewing the upper part of it, as we will explain in the section on POSSIBLE MODIFICATIONS TO IMPROVE THE TASMANIAN TIGER PURSE.

💬 PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH THE TASMANIAN TIGER RFID BLOCKER PURSE
I have to comment that the Tasmanian Tiger wallet with RFID blocker is BIG for those who doesnt usually to carry this size wallets.
In fact, when I received it, it took me a few months to get used to it. Therefore, I highly recommend considering the size of it, both ones: open and closed dimensions we have previously set.
We recommend transferring these dimensions to a paper so you can physically appreciate the own purse dimensions and see if you are willing to carry it.
Regarding its performance, I have to say that I am quite satisfied with it. Despite having been continuously rubbing inside pockets and against other hard objects such as keys, flashlights and other stuff for just over 2 years, the seams are intact, there are hardly any loose “hairs” and the zipper continues to run through its rail like the first day. Regarding the distribution of compartments, it has been very successful for me. It allows to dispose of money, cards and other objects in a quite comfortable and practical way.
However, I think that the purse must be fixed, because it is not logical that the small coins will come out if we are not careful. I think if you are looking for a wallet/purse for your entire life, this is an exceptional option. And if you do not want to pay between € 20 and € 25 that the wallet with an RFID blocker is worth, you should know that an option without this blocker is also available for between € 10 and € 15.

🔧 POSSIBLE MODS TO IMPROVE THE TASMANIAN TIGER PURSE
ADD CORD TO ZIPPER
One of the biggest problems with this zipper is at its small, it can become “hidden” at the end and at the beginning of the rail, so an interesting idea to make it more comfortable to hold it to open/close is to add a cord .
In this regard we recommend the green nylon cord (false paracord) from Web-Tex.
SEW THE PURSE´S TOP
One of the great cons that this Tasmanian Tiger wallet has is in the own purse, At being so expandable and having such a limited velcro closure, it is not difficult for us to lose the coins if we are not careful with that.
Therefore, a practical solution is to sew the upper ends to prevent the purse from expanding so much, to create a physical brake with the seam that prevents the coins from passing through. Anyway, this will be better explained in the video.
